Bentley is adding the new Continental GT Speed to its vehicle lineup . It is a higher performance variant of the standard Continental GT coupe. The Continental GT Speed is the most powerful production car Bentley has produced and it is also the first Bentley to have a top speed of 202 mph.
The GT Speed is powered by a lighter and more efficient twin-turbo W12 engine that produces 600 hp and 553lb ft, a 9 % power increase over the standard GT coupe. This power is what allows the Continental GT Speed to fly from 0 to 60 in an astounding 4.3 seconds. An amazing feat for a vehicle which is over 5100 lbs.
It has a six-speed automatic transmission and rides on 20-inch wheels and can be equipped with optional ceramic brakes. The appearance of the car has been tweaked making it look more sporty. The GT Speed now has a more upright grill and a wider air intake to differentiate it from the standard GT.
On the inside their is a new steering wheel, but being a typical Bentley the interior is very luxurious, leather, chrome and wood abounds. The Bentley Continental GT Speed is priced at $199,990 and will be available to order starting August of 2007.
