Kidz-Med Inc., has created the world’s first thermometer called the “Thermofocus”, that does not require contact with a surface to take precise temperature readings.
It reads the infrared heat released from a person’s forehead, allowing it to acquire the temperature as accurately as a rectal thermometer and more accurately than a ear thermometer.
Additionally, the Thermofocus can be used to get the temperature of other things such as bath water, baby formula and food.
I don’t have any children but for those with babies I can imagine that a lot of convenience is gained when all you need to do is place the front of the thermometer by the child’s forehead to take a temperature.
