It is surprising to hear that Sony has decided to bring its Soutina speaker to the market. It was originally presented as a concept.
A few years ago Sony eliminated several of their high-end products as part of a plan to increase the profitability of their consumer electronics divisions. Their decision to bring the Soutina (model number NSA-PF1) to the market may be a sign that things have turned around for Sony.
The Sony Soutina is a omni-directional speaker which features a glass tube which vibrates and expands to release sound 36o degrees around the speaker. The specifications are as follows:
- frequency response of 50Hz – 20,000Hz
- subwoofer (13cm)
- medium speaker (7cm)
- a tweeter constructed from organic glass
- measurements: 325X1845X325mm
- weight: 12.5kg
Those interested in the Sony Soutina should be be prepared for high-end prices, as it will will cost 6,500 Euros or approximately $10101.
