The Alneo line of MP3 players from Victor Japan may have questionable looks but their features are nice. In addition to this the Alneo MP3 players have a very unique feature, line-in recording. This feature allows them to take audio from external sources and encode it into the MP3 format at a maximum bit-rate of 160 kbs.
An external mike allows these MP3 players to be used for mono quality voice recordings. They have a 3-line OLED display and weigh 37 g. They come in 1GB and 2GB capacities, are WMA compatible and have a 20 hour battery life. These players are exclusive to the Japanese market and are priced at 15,000 YEN (approximately $125) for 1GB or 19,000 YEN (approximately $160) respectively.

Creative has added the option of a 16GB flash drive to its Zen V+ player on its website in Singapore. It is priced at 399 Singapore Dollars which is approximately $262.70 USD. This appears to be the first MP3 player to be sold with this capacity. Creative has not made any announcement of a release in the US but hopefully one is not far off.
Porsche’s design studio, aptly name Porsche Design, is know for their very stylish designs. They continue that tradition with the very stylish P’9521 cellphone.
Its construction is very unique, the cellphone is milled from a single block of aluminum and its screen is made with scratch resistant mineral glass. The screen is very functional as well, it rotates 180 degrees.
Also of interest is the P’9521’s built-in 3.2 megapixel digital camera and MP3 player. Its rarest feature, however, is its fingerprint reader which will keep your cellphones data from the eyes of strangers.
The use of biometric technology in cellphones is just begining, but it is a welcome addition. The P’9521 is priced at $1600 USD and will be available in Europe in the fall of 2007.
It will be available in the US in the spring 2008.

Want a blinged out MP3 player? Well apparently Sony thinks its Japanese consumers will. They will be releasing a new line of NW-E010 MP3 player with the aid a company called Swarovski. Swarovski is a luxury brand that specializes in creating products using precision cut crystal glass. These Swarovski designed MP3 players will come in the following colors: blue, gold, pink, purple and black. Buyers can choose between the 2 gigabyte model priced at 18,800 JPY (approximately $155.81 USD) or the 4 gigabyte model priced at 24,800 JPY (approximately $205.47 USD). They will be available in japan in the fall of 2007.
